We are looking for web geeks that like to play outside.
If you are not afraid of calling yourself a geek, you are probably close to being the right person; if you have had stitches from an action sport you’re getting warmer, if other geeks admire your code, you might be our dream candidate.
Both our Whistler and Montreal offices are looking for experienced FULL TIME WEB DEVELOPERS with proven programming skills and a passion for action sports and mountain culture. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented collaborator, good under pressure, who is motivated to work as part of a design team. He or she has a passion for user-centered design, experience with information architecture and usability testing and cross-browser/platform issues, writes clean, well-structured markup, can hand-code, and has a strong understanding of open source web technologies. Previous experience working for an interactive agency, design studio or advertising agency is an asset.
Skills we are looking for:
- Standards-compliant HTML, XHTML, DHTML
- CMS (preferably Drupal, Wordpress and/or Joomla)
- PHP
- Ruby on Rails
- Advanced CSS
- Javascript
- Flash and Action Script
- Database (MySQL and phpMyAdmin)
- eCommerce experience
We know no one is awesome at all of the above, so tell us your strengths, what you can do and what you have done and if you have the goods we have a chair for you.
Please send a resume with links to projects you have worked and a description of your role and contributions to jobs@origindesign.ca.

Wow, this sounds like the best job ever!
Sports + coding = heaven without a doubt. But the problem is how to choose: Whistler and the most beautiful mountains in the world or Montreal with the best hockey team in the world???
Found you guys doing some searching for discussions on TED talks and I’m glad I did. I also just happen to be looking for a job as I’m done with my Masters in the coming weeks. I’ll be sure to send my resume over, thanks for the opportunity!
Hey Odum,
Sorry we’re late to pick up on this. We look forward to hearing from you.
Mike
Hey Mike,
No problem at all. I actually emailed my resume / cover letter over to you guys the same day I posted. If you didn’t receive please let me know and I’ll send it over again.
Thanks!
Odum.
This is one nice looking job. I will be sure to pass it on to the web developers in my circle. Best of luck hiring for this job – I imagine you will be getting a lot of interest.
Wow…sounds really tempting for a girl who loves our mountains. Will have to chew on this while snowshoeing this weekend at Seymour/ Cypress.
I am tired from long distance trip. I hope this position doesn’t require anymore trip.
I simply want to stay with my family and friends in BC.
