One of our favourite things about snowboarding is the meeting of sports and culture that occurs when creative, active people come together. Throughout snowboarding, this recipe often results in incredible artwork and we’re happy to announce that Origin is co-sponsor of an event that celebrates some of that impressive art. On April 21st, Red Bull and Origin are sponsoring the opening party of Travis Rice and Mike Parillo’s Asymbol Gallery Exhibit. With artwork on display from legendary athlete/artists like Jamie Lynn to straight-up legendary snowboard photographers like Tim Zimmerman, Jeff Curtes and Danny Zapalac, Asymbol will be showcasing a curated collection of iconic photographs and art pieces from the snow, surf and skate worlds. Each image in the collection is offered in a limited-edition run of archival-quality, signed and numbered prints through the AsymbolGallery.com. Also featured is the I Am Snowboarding collection of mixed-media art and photography collaboration pieces “inspired by the short, beautiful life of snowboarder Jeff Anderson.”
A portion of all proceeds from AsymbolGallery.com will be donated to the non-profit organizations Action Sports Environmental Coalition (ASEC) and one of Origin’s partners, Protect Our Winters (P.O.W.).
The exhibit will be taking place from April 16th-25th at the Blake Jorgenson Gallery in the Westin Resort and Spa. The party (which will no doubt be epic considering it corresponds with the Grenade Games) is on the 21st so be sure to show up and show support. It’s going to be a good one. – MB
